Dynamic, Rapid Transformation Through Group Process

Many minds and hearts working together can help solve problems and soothe hurts that may seem impossible. I am always amazed and awed by the positive energy generated by the group process and the speed at which people feel better and make changes. No one likes to feel alone with problems - a group works together to solve life’s challenges.

All groups are offered periodically. Please call for dates and times.

I offer several specialty groups:

The Artist’s Way

The Artist’s Way is a 12-week course based on The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. This program uses a 12-step approach to creativity and personal growth. Members learn to challenge negative thoughts and feelings to break through barriers to acknowledge their deeper selves and achieve blocked goals. Simple daily exercises and tasks (journaling, reflection, self-care) lead to profound increases in motivation, self-worth, progress toward goals and often a lessening of pain, anxiety and depression.

The program is great for artists, writers and actors who are “stuck” in their careers, but it is equally effective for all people including Veterans and people with chronic illnesses. It is not a therapy group, but it is very therapeutic.

Participants say:

  • "The group was miraculous."
  • "Stephanie's leadership made it safe for me to risk opening up -I am so relieved."
  • "I never thought of myself as creative - Now I do and I am!"
  • "I have so much energy and life is great again."

Schedule
The next Artist's Way groups will begin Tuesday, Jan. 27th (evening session) and Wedneday, Jan. 28 (morning session).

What a Pain! Learning to Live with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue

Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome affect more than 5 million Americans. Officially diagnosed in the mid-1990s, the Centers for Disease Control has begun to educate the public about these serious and debilitating central nervous system disorders that involve chronic pain and fatigue. Anxiety and depression are often common aspects of these illnesses as well.

In this 6-week educational program, I help participants learn to live with and recover from these syndromes. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in the early 1990s and have worked with both traditional medical treatments and non-traditional healing (such as acupuncture, Reiki and nutrition) to regain my health. I know what it's really like to live with fatigue and pain while also having a full, rich life.
